On that occasion, a certain consensus was reached regarding the fact that national copyright laws in Latin America do not adequately respond to regional cultural creativity and scientific activities, nor do they respond in a way that allows Latin American users to obtain the greatest possible benefit from protected works. It also laid the groundwork for analysing the implementation and the possibility of adapting the aforementioned instrument to regional needs.
The proposed dynamic was to analyse in detail the "International Instrument on Permitted Uses in Copyright Law", contrasting it with the needs of the region. These needs arise from the results of the previous workshop in which most of the participants in this workshop have participated.
There was discussion and consensus building to determine the opportunity to adapt the text and develop specific explanatory notes around the Instrument along with outlining the future steps of the project.
