The latter introduced participants to draft provisions, as well as the new title of the instrument on public interest.
At the workshop, participants were informed that there was no common agreement with those of us who had drafted the provisions and were first asked what issues they thought should be added to the Instrument. This was followed by a clause-by-clause discussion and provisions were deleted and amended according to the views of the participants. Consistency with the TRIPS Agreement was sought.
